Positive/Negative is run by a staff of 18 students elected to various roles. Students holding these positions are responsible for and expected to keep the magazine on track and running smoothly. The staff is also responsible for putting together the magazine during production week, and making sure the content (photography + design) is absolutely outstanding and working in unity.
Claire and Chelsie are the executives of the magazine; they run the staff meetings, trouble-shoot, offer suggestions, and keep the project on target and on schedule. If problems arise, the Art Directors are responsible for maintaining a productive environment for everyone.
Nick and Mariah are responsible for the design of the template and style sheets of the magazine and it is their responsibility to be sure that all specifications are met. They work well together and work with all staff members and class members and have an in-depth knowledge of InDesign. "Grace under pressure" is their motto.
Mia and Andrew are responsible for the quality and content of the photography in the magazine.
They work closely with staff and all class members to ensure that all photos are of the highest quality.
David, Jenn, and Sydney work with everyone to ensure that all files are prepared correctly before going to press.
They work under pressure...gracefully and tactfully. This is a very time-consuming and important job that is CRITICAL to the success of the magazine.
Lauren, Ethan, and Brianna work with all class members and the Writing Commons Copy Editors at RIT to be sure that all articles are original, well written and correctly cited.
Alyssa and Brandon work with all staff and class members to be sure that there is a good balance of positive and negative articles and keep in touch with the mood / content of the magazine as it is in progress. Feature Editors determine the final selection of articles that will appear in the magazine and the order in which they appear.
Dan, Farrah, Jess, Mackenzi, and Sarah are in charge of selecting a good range of articles from the magazine to create an interactive and interesting tablet version.
They also create and handle substantial and impressive web content and content for the magazine such as video, web imagery, web design, BTS, blogging, etc.
